Pink Slip Check List

Pink Slip knows that there are a ton of things to think about in the days leading up to the Prom. We want to ensure that your night is as fabulous as possible, so we have compiled some tips to help. We know how great it feels to check things off of a list - so go ahead and print our checklist and highlight your little heart out.

Check List:

Your Dress
Hopefully you have your dress by now. If not, contact Pink Slip (info@pinkslipboutique.com) for you last minute attendees. Is your dress still in the plastic? You should take your dress out to let it breathe about 4 days before the prom. Make sure to keep it somewhere safe. Is it looking a little flat from the garment bag? Let us steam it out! Email us and we'll re-steam your dress so it's perfect for the Prom. DO NOT, we stress at the top of our lungs, do not Iron your prom dress.... otherwise you'll be visiting Problem City: Population You!

Your Dates Tux
Now, it is definitely not your responsibility to take care of your dates tux, but we all know how silly boys can be, so you might want to check in and make sure everything is set.

Flowers
Did you and your date talk about flowers? Decide what kind and color and put your orders in ASAP. Flower shops are so busy on these days and you want to make sure you get exactly what you want!

Accessories
You really do not want to over accessorize your dress but adding a piece here and there will help to give your dress 'a look'. Let's face it, everyone can put on a pretty ball gown, or a sleek dress, but do your accessories help you stand out? If you need help creating your entire look for the prom, let us know. We have massive experience in fashion styling and we want to make sure your look is unique for the dance.

Shoes

Now, we're huge fans of the heel, but we're no Carrie Bradshaw. We know that after a few hours, our feet are on the verge of hating us for eternity. Make sure you bring along a nice pair of comfortable flats or flip flops to change into. You want to make sure you remember the night forever, not the aching blisters on your freshly manicured toes. Also, wear your heels around the house prior to your prom. Now you will have that whole 'new shoe break-in' period taken care of.

Hair and Nails

Have a good idea of what you'd like done for your prom look. Hopefully you'll have your appointments 3-4 weeks in advance (these places fill up!) We suggest you try calling Planet Color (and ask for Kristen!) - This salon is young, fun, and they will go the extra mile to make sure you have the perfect hair. Contact the salon for your hair appointment at
(708) 479-8966. Don't forget to wear a button up shirt when you make it to your appointment - you don't want to have to go ruining the 'do before anyone gets to see it- you also don't want to end up with a small birds nest on your head.

Your Purse

Since we know you're not carrying your everyday purse that basically fits the entire contents of your closet with you to the dance, be smart about what items you're stuffing in your clutch. Money, ID, a few touch up pieces of your make-up, camera, and your student I.D. if necessary, should be perfect.

Reservations
Do you have all of your reservations ready and confirmed? Limo, Dinner, etc.? Also, do you have your after prom plans prepared? Make sure you give these places a call just to confirm. You want everything to run as smooth as possible. Also, clear these plans with the parentals. You don't want any surprise "I DON'T THINK SO'S" on the night of prom when you tell your parents you'll see them on Monday.

Rest

It's really important to get enough rest before the big day because, trust us, it's a long, but incredibly fun and exciting day! Don't do anything silly like run a marathon, or go bowling. These activities might cause you major fatigue. Chill out and watch a movie instead. On Demand has never sounded so great. Drink plenty of water the week before the special day - your skin will look amazing! Also, eat sensibly. Go for light and filling meals - salads, proteins, these will be great for your energy on the day of the dance.

Now, you're all set! These tips will help make sure that you have the best and most memorable prom ever! If you've checked everything off on the list then you can feel confident that there will be no bumps in the road. We tell you these tips because we care, and we definitely don't want you having one of those prom moments that ends up on the 'I'm So Embarrassed!' pages of Vogue!
