MAJOR UPDATE!
Hello Friends, Lauren here. It's been a while since I've given you a big update on Pink Slip so here it goes! Get EXCITED!
First- Homecoming season has been so fun. We have been selling through pretty dresses like crazy. You know, there is good news and bad news about sell through - Good news: you guys are finding stuff you love for your dance, bad news the racks get empty on the weekends. HOWEVER, this means every week we are getting new dresses! So that's totally exciting.
NEXT- FALL CASUAL DRESSES!! In a few short weeks some of Pink Slip's pretty pieces will be going on SALE. Check the website or the blog for more info! We will be changing out our inventory for FALL! We will have cute casual dresses. Isn't that exciting! Check out the pocket friendly price points coming in Mid October!
Pink Slip Jobs - We have had massive amounts of emails and calls asking if Pink Slip is hiring. Currently we are not hiring, we have a full, fun, silly, hard working staff that we appreciate so much! However, Pink Slip will be taking on more staff during the Prom Season.
Jewelry - Pink Slip gets new jewelry about every two weeks. Stop in for some cute accessories to change out your fall wardrobe.
Fashion Show - Were you one of the lucky people who attended our Fall Fashion show? If you were then you know how great it turned out! We had a 30 look runway show on September 12, 2009 that couldn't have been more fun and exciting. Check out the pictures coming to our website soon, and your local papers!
So, that's all for now. We're so excited to be up and running. Our store has been so well received and we thank all of you for coming by and supporting the Shop!

Things We Love: TOMS
TOMS is a shoe company based on the idea that for every pair of shoes they sell, a pair of shoes is given away to a child who cannot afford them.
It was started in 2006 when Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found no of them had shoes. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff.
The idea of putting other people ahead of yourself is really beautiful. It is inspiring to see another young business person putting their heart and sole into something they believe in.

Pink Slip: Dirty Dancing Style
In case you haven't heard, Patrick Swayze passed away this evening. Obviously we are watching Dirty Dancing in remembrance. He was an awesome dancer, a hot babe AND a heartfelt, emotional singer. Check out this video...
It feels like I am looking up from underneath a swimming pool....but in the best possible way.
True story, more than a couple of times the girls of Pink Slip have been caught singing/dancing around the store to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.

Pink Slip: Weekend Schedule
Mark your calendars....
Pink Slip will be CLOSED Saturday September 12th
and Sunday September 13, 2009.
The store will reopen
on Monday September 14th, 2009.
We are holding our Grand Opening Party this weekend, and will need every second we have to get ready. We hope that everyone will respect the exclusivity of our weekend event, which is by invitation only. But don't worry, there will be many more events to follow!

We know, it's very 1998 of us...but we can’t help it. We dare you to listen to this song and not dance.
As a side note, Outkast also gets some major points in the style department. Their style is unique, over the top and almost always bizarre, but we totally dig it.

Things We Love: Art
New York artist Tara Donovan is a master one of a kind sculpturals. She creates art from rolls of tape, pieces of pencil, Styrofoam cups, paper plates, napkins.
