Products We Love: Jemma Kidd Lip Gloss

There is a long, scientific explanation about Jemma Kidd's ID Color-Adapt lip gloss, but we're not about to get into it. We're no science majors, and as soon as we hear talk about PH Scales and solubility, our brain is on a one way trip to la-la land.

All we need to know is that this lip gloss DOES in fact change color and adapt to your skin tone. It also stays on, leaving a great stained color look for most of the day. JK, being a model, created this make up line for Target a while ago. Since the collection came about, I notice that my make up bag has a lot more "JK" labels added to it! It's a fun, and super bright collection.

We are always flipping through magazines to see what we can't live without. But sometimes, things get weird....

Like this one of Lady Gaga.
I just want to say to her "get it together...you are better than this!" but then I think of her new jam "Love Game" and think, no this outfit is pretty right on.

Hello - Crazy! Someone should tell Furgi this hairdo only looks good if you are a samurai warrior. It is wound so tight it looks like it should be put around a pillow and sold at Pier 1.



Sometimes less is more. But other times, well, MORE is more. Looking at this picture I can think of several things Fugtoria Hevery could use more of including food, sunscreen, and fabric. YIKES!

Things we love: The color yellow

We had one of our models come over this evening, and decided she will totally rock this yellow dress. It made us think how great yellow is. While we are certainly partial to pink (clearly) we have been totally digging the color yellow. It is just so happy and fun...there is no way you can wear yellow and be sad.

Swoon...

We would be remiss if we did not mention our long time swoon, Gavin Rossdale.
Ok, so we maybe dating ourselves a bit with this one...but come on!





Gavin holds a special place in our hearts, partly because he looks really good without a shirt on, but mostly because once we found out we both shared the same fanatical love for Gavin as pre teens, we knew we would be friends for a long time.

Often we compare our then obsession over the Bush rocker by thinking of the weird things we did to show our love of Gavin....

Carly:
Had a picture of Gavin in a heart frame, which she carried with her to sleepovers

Lauren:
Had a Gavin themed birthday party, complete with cut outs of Gavin's face on Popsicle sticks, for the guests to wear as masks

Carly AND Lauren:
Had a scrap books of Gavin's magazine photos

Is it hard to look back and think how weird and awkward we were?
Yes, yes it is.

Our love for Gavin has been an inside joke between the two of us for a long time. For Carly's 23rd birthday Lauren made her a Gavin Rossdale themed cake - because she is cool like that.

But who could forget that magical moment he sang Glycerine in the rain



We may have grown out of the awkward pre teen obsession, but Gavin will also be a swoon....

Things We Love: Wayne's World

Let's be real. The more time goes by, the less amount of people remember Wayne's World. This is a shame on many levels. The hysterical comedy stylings of Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar should always be remembered and Carly and I chose to acknowledge that fact everyday.

Sometimes, it's like we're speaking our own language. We get funny looks, we get the 'what are you two talking about stares', we get the gentle compassionate faces from people in checkout lines at stores who think we might be crazy, but what they don't understand is that we're speaking in "Wayne's World." That's right, based on this killer movie from 1992, that we have probably seen a cumulative 200 times, we can have an entire conversation based in quotes.

For example:

Carly: Where's the tagging gun?

Lauren: I don't even own, a gun! Let alone many guns that would necessitate and entire rack! What am I gonna do... with a GUN RACK?

Lauren: Yes. Ahm, no. We're between lawyers right now. You see, our first lawyer screwed our affairs so bad.

Carly: That's right. I walked right to that office - that's what I did - and I reached across that desk and I grabbed him by his big fat head and I said "Listen, man. I'm not going to jail for *you* or for anybody."



We could go on for days.

We realize we're dating ourselves with this but we like to pass the film on to younger generations who otherwise might never know the true meaning of 'spew'. NETFLIX IT TODAY!!!

Style Icon: Jackie O.

Life magazine recently published a special addition memorial to Jackie O. titled "Remembering Jackie 15 Years Later" We came across it while standing in line at Walgreen's.

We haven't read the magazine - although we are sure it says some special things - what we are really love is the beautiful photography, especially the pictures of her wedding.



Her dress is stunning...so stunning in fact, it is on display at the JFK Library and Museum.
We image that someday the Daniela for Pink Slip line will make its way into the JFK Museum....but that is a story for a different time.

First lady Jackie O is like the god mother of style icons–the pearls, the pillbox hats, the hair, the sunglasses–girlfriend had it going on!



She was copied, admired and revered. Her image played a huge role in her lasting legacy.
