A lot of things are going on at Pink Slip that we want YOU to know about! Beginning August 7th, our regular store hours will resume: Monday: closed, Tuesday-Friday: 12-8, Saturday-Sunday: 11-5. The store if filled with amazing new dresses, jewelry and accessories that are perfect for homecoming and any of your upcoming special events.

Many people have been asking about our fabulous "Pretty In Pink Slip" t-shirts. We still have some left in a variety of sizes for those of you who have not purchased one yet! It's incredible to see our clients sporting their Pink Slip gear at school, the mall, and all around town. If you are interested, hurry in soon because they are going fast!

Also, there are still several model spots available for our Holiday Fashion Show on Sunday, November 4th. This is such a fun day and we want everyone to be a part of it! If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at the store at (708) 478-7465.

Model of the Week

Pink Slip's model of the week is Madeline Kish. She is one of our fabulous summer interns and a proud supporter of our new "Pretty in Pink Slip" t-shirts! We are so in love with our new shirts and we think that you are too judging by how fast they are flying out the door! If you haven't picked yours up yet we still have several left in a variety of sizes. It's incredible to see our friends, family and clients wearing the shirts at school, the mall, the gym, and everywhere else around town. Thank you for supporting us and our store!!

Swoon: Ryan Lochte

Forget the NBA playoffs, the Superbowl and even the World Series. Why, you ask? Because the sporting event of the year is upon us! That's right, it's Olympics time! Even if you aren't a die-hard sports fan, most of us are finding it nearly impossible to pry ourselves away from our t.v.'s these days as we watch our favorite athletes compete for the gold.

If you are anything like us, you may not root for a particular athlete based solely on their skill and talent. Who are we kidding, if you are easy on the eyes you've won us over! That's why the Olympic gold-medalist, Ryan Lochte, has us swooning! We are starting to think that they're putting something in those Olympic pools because everyone on the men's swim team is quite a looker!! Besides being incredible looking, Ryan Lochte is humble and grateful for all of his blessings and opportunities. What's more attractive than that?!

Style Icon: Alexa Chung

Some of you may remember Alexa Chung on her short lived MTV series "It's On with Alexa Chung" but this girl is crazy busy! As a British television presenter, contributing editor at British Vogue, and model, this business woman has some serious fashion sense, that is why she is our style icon of the week. We love her mix and match style because she is able to incorporate various items together in an innovative way. This girl takes risks! She is a big fan of menswear but always adds her own feminine touch to the ensemble. Not only is she a great style icon but she is also extremely successful. Chung must be making some major money to be sporting these incredible designer brands, keep it up girl!

 

This Week's Jam

We know that this jam has been playing for a few weeks now, but we can't get enough!! It's one of those songs that you can pick up singing at any point when you hear it on the radio. This song will always remind us of summer and having an absolute blast! It's going to take a lot for us to get sick of this baby! We know that it's a bomb jam because even our parents like it...and sing along to EVERY single word, despite our sincere requests not to.

We Love: Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs is one of our absolute favorite designers! Whether it's his designer duds, sunglasses, watches, handbags, fragrances or anything else that's part of his incredible collections, we can't help but fall in love and be truly inspired by his work. Here at Pink Slip, we are firm believers that something with a Marc Jacobs label is a staple in every girls' wardrobe! We are beyond excited for his Fall 2012 collection because it is a little off-kilter with the variety of colors, prints, fabrics and shapes he used this season!

Our Holiday fashion show, The Nutcracker (Not So) Suite, is only about three months away and we are already so busy with all of the preparations! This show is going to blow everyone away as Pink Slip puts its own edgy spin on the classic Nutcracker Suite! If anyone is still interested in being a model in the show, all ticket money ($100) is due by August 1st. There will be no exceptions to the deadline. If you are interested in participating please feel free to stop into the store to pick up an information packet or call us with any questions you may have! Fittings will start in just a few weeks on August 15th so make sure to be waiting for a call from us!

Here are some of our absolute faves from the recent photo shoot for Pink Slip's Fall/Homecoming 2012 collection! All of these are on the floor now and we are getting new dresses in daily. This homecoming season Pink Slip will have its biggest collection to date so we are positive that the perfect dress awaits you!

Model of the Week

Pink Slip's Model of the Week is Erin Nolan! She's not just wearing this multi-color sequin mini, SHE IS OWNING IT!! You can tell this girl is a professional! This was one of our favorite pictures from our recent photo shoot for our HUGE new fall/homecoming collection. This dress, along with so many others, is out on the floor now. Pairing the neon pink converse and cross body bag made Erin's look a little more casual and a lot more fun! If you are looking for the perfect dress that going to turn heads and drop jaws, here it is!!

Swoon: Christian Bale

It only seems appropriate that we would be swooning over Batman himself with the release of "The Dark Knight Rises." That's right, Christian Bale has us starry eyed and swooning this week! It's no secret that from the opening scene of "The Dark Knight Rises" viewers are captivated by the intense action, but the fast cars and fighting aren't the only things that have us mesmerized. Whether he's looking dapper dressed in a suit as Bruce Wayne or suited up in all black as Batman, Christina Bale always leaves us wanting more!

Style Icon: Florence Welch

Florence Welch, of the band Florence + The Machine, is not only a music icon, but a style icon as well. She combines vintage, glamor and boho to create her own unique style. She must be doing something right if Karl Lagerfeld chose her as his muse for his Chanel 2012 Spring/Summer collection!

This Week's Jam

Whether you are 15 or 55, we know that everyone LOVES this week's jam! Whether you've heard it in movies, on your iPod, or you hear your parents belt it out every now and then, Hall and Oates' "You Make My Dreams Come True" is such a classic, and an instant pick me up jam if we do say so ourselves! This is definitely one of those songs that will lead to some strained vocal cords, so sing on and enjoy!
