Summer Internships

If you are looking for a Summer internship, there is no need to look any further! Pink Slip Boutique is offering an internship program to college students interested in retail management and visual merchandising, graphic and web design and event planning. These are unpaid internships, however, school credit may be earned upon completion.

The Pink Slip Retail Management and Visual Merchandising Internship will help individuals gain insight to store planning, floor planning, merchandise planning and allocation, as well as offer creative freedom to plan and execute all aspects of the storeʼs biggest season.

Requirements:

• Experience or education in retail visual merchandising as well as marketing or advertising

• Enthusiasm for fashion and knowledge of current fashion trends

• Must be of Junior or Senior standing and enrolled in an accredited institution

• Student must gain school credit hours for internship

• Must have a detail oriented personality and not afraid of hands on experience

• Most of all we are looking for someone who has a ʻgo-getterʼ attitude, with an extremely outgoing personality

Candidates interested in the Graphic and Web Design Internship should be organized, have creative energy, a positive attitude and possess the ability to think outside of the box. The selected intern will perform a variety of design work which will include, but is not limited to, photo research, event collateral, e-blasts, web design layouts, promotional design and print layout. The intern may also help with the organization of contact sheets, event photo disks and other promotional materials.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Graphic Design or related field of study

• Must be of Junior or Senior standing and enrolled in an accredited institution

• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and In Design

• Must possess the ability to adapt quickly to a variety of challenges and effectively problem solve and troubleshoot as needed

• Must be able to meet project deadlines

• Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively

• Excellent communication, organizational, and team skills required

• Strong attention to detail, deadline oriented, and ability to multi-task effectively.

• Professional demeanor

The Event Planning Internship will teach candidates valuable event planning and public relations skills while assisting in coordinating the storeʼs fashion shows. In addition to promoting and executing the fashion shows, the intern will be tasked with administrative and non-administrative activities such as drafting press releases, establishing relationships with local businesses, scheduling, and researching events for Pink Slip to attend in order to further promote its name within the community. The intern will also assist in maintaining open communication with event attendees, coordinating and booking talent/speakers/hosts, and organizing the look and feel of the event venue. Other administrative tasks will include, but are not limited to updating development records, filing, data entry, and general clerical work as necessary. The right match for this position will be a highly motivated, professional individual with strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

· Comfortable with both phone and email based communication

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Self-motivated & hard working

· Positive, energetic & responsible

· Eager to learn

· Can work independently as well as collaboratively

· Organized and detail oriented

· Knowledge of social media: Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.

· Internet research

This week, we here at PINK SLIP have two FASHION SHOWS coming up and we are SO EXCITED for them both!!

Not only do we look up to WHITNEY, but also the people who work so hard to put all the different fashion shows on at different schools and organizations throughout the year. We know it's hard work and we appreciate all the work the different members and volunteers in the community do.

Tonight, we'll be with the lovely ladies at ST. DAMIENS FASHION SHOW.

This Saturday, we'll be at the LINCOLN WAY NORTH FASHION SHOW.

Hopefully we'll see you at one or the other... or even BOTH!!!

We've got some cute new dresses we'll be showcasing in each show.

Aside from our excitement for the two fashion shows, we're also excited because we have lots of new PROM, TURNABOUT and short SPECIAL OCCASION dresses in the store! And don't forget, we've got new JEWELRY and SHOES!

Pink Slip Boutique: A Whitney Houston Paradise

We like to think that we are some of the biggest Whitney Houston fans out there! She was a musical inspiration that will never, ever be forgotten. We wanted to pay tribute to our idol and show everyone what an inspiration she was to us! Pink Slip has been transformed into a Whitney paradise. From the moment you enter the store you will find all of the lyrics to one of Whitney Houston's most famous songs "Greatest Love of All" adorning the walls, ceilings and mirrors. These decorations seem particularly fitting during the month of love! We absolutely love Pink Slip's new look and want everyone to see how incredible it is! Do it for Whitney!

Everyone has been anxiously awaiting Pink Slip's new shoes and we are excited to tell you that they are here! We have two new styles that we know you are going to love. The first pair is a black sparkle platform that will look great with any color dress you decide to pair them with. The other is a silver strappy heel with rhinestones and a back zip. Both shoes are versatile and can be worn for any special events that you have coming up!
