TOMS is a shoe company based on the idea that for every pair of shoes they sell, a pair of shoes is given away to a child who cannot afford them.
It was started in 2006 when Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found no of them had shoes. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff.
The idea of putting other people ahead of yourself is really beautiful. It is inspiring to see another young business person putting their heart and sole into something they believe in.
