Pink Slip Summer Mix

We are such nice people that we don't just want you to be well versed in dresses, we want you to be well versed in culture! This means anything from make-up to movies to products and music, duh.

Here is a fun summer time mix of the music that we are listening to! You can download this and enjoy it!

Track Listing For YOU!:

Animal Collective - My Girls
This song is crazy, but in a good and kind of psychadelic way. Love it.

The Noisettes - Never Forget You
This fills the void for the lack of 1960 girl pop groups in the world today.

God Help The Girl - God Help The Girl
Besides being kind of funny, it's good for any girl who likes to kick some ass (p.s. try on a regular basis not to use too many expletives in our every day life but this one was required... just sayin')

Madonna - Material Girl Vs. Hey Mickey
Recently we decided we like these kinds of mash-ups. Listen to how fun this song turned out!

Camera Obscura - French Navy
We just realized the first half of this cd is chick heavy, and the second half is dude heavy.

Those Dancing Days - Action Man

Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel
We are missing Michael SO MUCH. This is one of the best songs to listen to in the summer. Does anyone remember how great this video was? YOUTUBE IT!

Tommy Roe - Dizzy
It just seem to fit? We like it - summerish, old, fun, tambourines, bike riding kind of music.

Devendra Banhart - Carmencita
We know you guys are going back to school soon so maybe this will help you brush up on your Spanish.

The Fiery Furnaces - I'm Going Away
Scene Points.

Islands - No You Don't!
More Scene Points!

Yo La Tengo - Periodically Double Or Triple
This is one of our favorite bands! Check out all of their musica.

Bright Eyes - Devil Town (cover)
Because we know it's not a mix if Bright Eyes isn't involved and this song is great for those of you who are leaving for college and can't wait for new surroundings and if you think your friends are vampires.

Pink Slip Groves: Michael Jackson Edition

Due to recent events, we decided to do a Pink Slip Groves Michael Jackson addition.

I am listening to "Scream"
This is not a song people typically remember - but I dont know why, because its so great. It is a little hard around the edges. He did this song in the early 90's with Janet. Together it is like an unstoppable duo. And their dance scene is amazing!

For Lauren, she is remembering Michael with the classic "Thriller"
Maybe one of the best music videos of all time.
Ask her to show you the Thriller dance...she is really good at it!

Pink Slip Says Goodbye

Yesterday was a sad day with the loss of Michael Jackson and Farah Fawcett-

MJ gave us many things (in the 80s) he taught us how to moon walk, he made arguably one of the best videos of all time- Thriller-, told us “it don’t matter if your black or white”, introduced us to Billy Jean, and wrote one of the most inspirational pump up songs of all time….. We know we don’t have to say it but we will….. “Man in the Mirror!” – 80s Michael will be missed, weird shrinking nose changing skin color Michael- we kind of ignored you anyway-

And Farah Fawcett what can we say- you are probably the hottest babe to ever walk the planet- as Wayne and Garth would say… “We’re not worthy/ We’re not worthy!”
